The Golden Eagles hammered out 16 hits, pitcher Hannah Esch only allowed one hit while striking out five as Barneveld blanked Juda/Albany Friday afternoon 12- 0.
Aleea Norton led the charge for Barneveld at the plate going 3×4 scoring twice and collecting two RBIs. Esch, Eliza Gordon, Addison Walker, Lauren Reese, Mya Norton, and Reagan Knight each had two hits. Esch, Reese, Mya Norton, and Knight all had doubles in the game.
Already up 1-0, Barneveld scored four runs in the top of the third. After Addison Carden and Esch singled to start the inning, Carden scored on Aleea Norton’s single. While Norton was stealing second base, Esch stole home for a run. Reese’s double scored Norton, and Mya Norton’s double scored Reese making 5-0.
In the fifth, three straight singles started the inning off when, with the bases loaded, Mya Norton hit a single to plate two runs. Knight’s double brought in two more runs making it 9-0. Later in the inning with one and bases loaded, it was Esch’s double that scored two more runs.
As of this game, Barneveld is now 15-6 overall in the season.
