Dodgeville Township needs to pass resolution

Dear Editor,

Several area towns have passed resolutions opposing the Uplands Wind project being developed by Pattern Energy. These resolutions are to protect the citizens of the township and preserve the quality of life, natural environment, and aesthetic beauty that residents and tourists depend on.

The Uplands Wind project encompasses the towns of Willow Springs and Fayette in Lafayette County and the towns of Mineral Point, Waldwick, Linden, Ridgeway and Dodgeville. All of these towns have passed resolutions and/or moratoriums except Dodgeville. There are 4 proposed 656′ wind turbines and connection lines in the Town of Dodgeville. Are the Chairman and Supervisors not concerned about this project? Connection lines will have to cross the Dodge Branch of the Pecatonica River, aren’t they concerned about the damage to the environment that could happen?

If you live in the Dodgeville Township, please contact you supervisors or board chairman to address these issues. Pattern Energy needs to abide by ALL state and local ordinances and resolutions. Area residents’ safety should come before 656′ wind turbines. Say NO to Uplands Wind. Write/call your legislators and the WI Public Service Commission. Make your voices heard. We can make a difference.
