Spurgeon Winery invites guests to celebrate Memorial Day Weekend at the annual GREAT Wine & Chocolate Weekend, taking place Saturday, May 23 and Sunday, May 24, 2026.
This popular spring into summer event pairs Spurgeon Winery’s handcrafted wines with decadent artisan chocolate truffles from Driftless Chocolates of Mount Horeb, Wisconsin. Guests will also enjoy a small charcuterie plate featuring local cheeses and sausage to complement the wine and chocolate pairings.
Driftless Chocolates was founded by Stan and Robyn Kitson in 2019. Stan, a certified chocolatier through Ecole Chocolat, combines culinary creativity with a passion for fine chocolate to craft unique artisan confections. Robyn oversees the business operations and growth of the company, helping make Driftless Chocolates a thriving small business in southwest Wisconsin.
Included in the tasting experience or without for a fee, visitors can enjoy live music both afternoons:
. Saturday: Andy Benson performs from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. featuring original “indie” style music.
. Sunday: Rebel Wells performs from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. singing and playing popular covers from a variety of decades and genres.
Tasting sessions at 1:00 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. both days. Tickets are available in advance and are available online through Eventbrite or at the door while supplies last.
Spurgeon Winery is located 5 miles west of Highland at 16008 Pine Tree Rd, Highland, WI. The winery is open Thursdays 10-5, Fridays and Saturdays 10-6, Sundays 11-5, and Mondays by appointment only.
