Argyle/Black Hawk saw a 5-0 lead dwindle in the bottom of the sixth when host Highland plated three runs but that was all the offense either team could generate and ABH held on for a 5-3 Six Rivers win Tuesday.
Highland closed the gap by scoring on a Marissa Biba double, a dropped third strike theat allowed Cora Healy -Dougherty to score, and an rbi single by Emily Laufenberg single.
ABH opened the scoring in the first after an error scored two runs.
ABH added two runs in the third after Brinley Meinert singled down the right field line.
Brynne Harris earned the win for ABH. The hurler gave up seven hits and three runs (one earned) over seven innings, striking out six and walking two.
Sumaryn Halverson took the loss for Highland. She went seven innings, surrendering five runs (one earned) on seven hits, striking out three and walking two.
Laufenberg and Celia Oleson each collected two hits for the Cardinal. Biba and Laufenberg each drove in one run.
Claire Holmes and Meinert each drove in two runs for ABH. Meinert led Argyle Varsity Orioles with two hits in three at bats Sam Kammes, Kylie Butler, Adrionna Ubersox, Alexis Tregembo and Macy Harris also had hits for ABH.
The Cardinals also got hits from Halverson and Bollant.
