Kaden Washa turned in a gem on the mound for Highland Monday but defensive problems ended up as a 3- 1 loss for the Cardinals vs Shullsburg/Benton.
Washa limited S/B to four hits without a walk and he came up with nine strikeouts. None of the three runs were earned as the Cardinals committed six errors.
Parker Brown used one of Highland’s five hits to drive in the lone Cardinals run. Jack Tarrell was 3×3 and Washa added the fifth hit.
