Jentry Olson and Boone Rickard combined on a shutout as Dodgeville disposed of Southwestern 4-0 in a non-conference baseball game Monday.
Olson worked the first five, spacing three hits while walking four and striking out two. Rickard mopped up with three strikeouts.
Rickard’s single scored courtesy runner Griffin Busch who took over for Olson who had reached on a walk. Busch moved up on a wild pitch and scored when Rickard hit a rocket to right.
The Dodgers extended their early lead with three runs in the bottom of the third thanks to RBI singles by Olson and Andrew Hesseling. Olson drove in two and Hesseling one.
Jayce Halverson added two hits for the Dodgers and Bryce Crubaugh-Lockard contributed one.
The Dodgers turned three double plays in the game.
