It has been said good things come to those who wait.
The Dodgeville baseball team lived that Saturday, waiting until the seventh to score and take a 3-1 win over New Glarus in a non-conference game.
Nathan Johnson, who pitched two wins in two days, got into the game late and drove in the run that tied the game at 1-1 in the top of the seventh with a bases loaded ground out. Then Bryce Crubaugh-Lockard slammed a double to center to drive in two more.
It was a game of few hits with Dodgeville getting three and the Knights two.
Caden Schneider gave up the two hits over 6 2/3 innings before reaching the 100 pitch count limit. He struck out 11 and walked three. Jack Graber came on to record the save, getting the last out on seven pitches.
The Knights got their lone run in the first on an outfield error, making it unearned.
Doubles by Crubaugh-Lockard and Jayce Halverson, along with a single by Boone Rickard, were the three Dodgeville hits.
