Hitting was not an issue for the Barneveld softball team Monday.
The Golden Eagles matched their 22 runs with the same number of hits in a 22-3 pummeling of Benton/Shullsburg in a Six Rivers match-up. Hannah Esch led the onslaught with a 5×5 day at the plate that included a double and four rbis.
And she was not alone when it came to offensive production Reagan Knight was 3×3 with a double and also drove in four runs. Eliza Gordon doubled and went 4×5 with a pair of rbis. Isabel Pohlman drove in a run and went 2×3. Winning pitcher Lauren Reese drove in three runs and went 3×5.
Aleea Norton, Addison Walker and Jayda Oimoen all had one hit.
Reese shut out B/S on on one hit and struck out seven in two innings of work.
Mya Norton finished, striking out three.
