In the 12 team Portage Warrior Invitational on Friday, Dodgeville placed fourth overall between D1 and D2 schools shooting a team score of 340. River Valley finished in eighth place overall with 361. Mount Horeb won the meet with a 314 team score, and they had two golfers that were tied for medalist honors as Nolan Niemetscheck and Nick Ibinger both carded two-over par 73’s. Freshman Connor Hottmann led the Dodgers with a 79.

According to Dodger Head Coach Logan Thole, the last two holes cost his team. “The guys shot very well overall at Portage, but holes 17 and 18 cost us seventeen strokes as a team. If we cut those strokes in half, we shoot our third best round of the year. But we are trending in the right direction after a few rough rounds and hoping to get hot when it counts here at the end of the season,” he said.
