P/C tips Highland 3-2

Highland stayed on the heels of host Potosi/Cassville before losing 3- 2 in Six Rivers West baseball action Friday.

The Cardinals scored a run in the first which was answered in the bottom of the frame with two runs by P/C. P/C added a run in the second to lead 3-1 before the Cards shut them out the rest of the way.

Highland pulled within one with a run in the fifth but that ended their scoring for the game.

Kaden Washa had the lone hit for Highland when he singled in the first, That resulted in for the first Cardinals run when he scored on a fielders choice by Tanner Degenhardt.

The run in the fifth for Highland came after Griffin Wineski coaxed a walk and scored when a grounder by Koyer Zadradzil was booted.

Washa and Jack Tarrell split the mound duties for the Cardinals. Washa went four innings with four hits, two runs one walk and four strikeouts.

Tarrell worked three frames, giving up three hits, one run with a walk and a strikeout.
