Barneveld slammed out 14 hits and took care of Potosi/Cassville 15-5 winning the Six Rivers match-up in five innings.
The Eagles got on the board in the first inning plating a run on an error. Potosi-Cassville scored on a wild pitch to tie the game in the bottom of the first.
Barneveld took control in the second scoring five runs on two hits to take the lead, 6-1. The biggest blow in the inning was a three run home run to left field by Addison Carden.
The Eagles added to their early lead in the top of the third inning. Reagan Knight singled down the left field line, Eliza Gordon singled down the right field line, Esch doubled to center field, and Aleea Norton singled to center field with each resulting in a run.
Esch earned the win for Barneveld. The right-hander surrendered five hits and five runs (three earned) over five innings, striking out five and walking four.
The Eagles tallied 14 hits in the game. Gordon and Knight each had three hits. Carden went 2-for-4 at the plate and led the team with four runs batted in. Aleea Norton and Isabel Pohlman each had two hits with Mya Esch’s hit was a double. Norton and Esch each getting one.
