hat was a lovely get-together Saturday at the Quality Inn in Mineral Point. After Bob Oberhauser introduced them, both Travis Tranel and Tom Tiffany had a few words to say about wind turbines. And why the passage of SB 3, which would give our local governments some control as to where those turbines can be placed, is so crucial for life out here in the country. After they left on their very tight schedule (we were their 6th stop of the day}, people stayed and continued to pour their hearts out over the destruction that is coming.
Just like a very similar session 5 years ago: Friday afternoon on May 29, 2021 at the Belmont Convention Center. Same packed house, same subject matter, same anguish. That one featured Travis Tranel, Howard Marklein, and Todd Novak. They also listened and said they would do what they could to help, but with the caveat that these things take time. They weren’t kidding. I don’t think SB 3 has even hit the floor yet.
