Rewey – Elaine Bunker – 608-943-6625

Earth Day is celebrated on April 22 each year. It’s a good reminder to us to take care of our environment. A few ways to do this is monitor your energy use, placing trees and creating pollinater spaces.

No burnables or small metals at the Rewey treatment/sewer plant on May 2. The recent rain has delayed the work planned there this spring. Village of Rewey Big Clean Up Day is Saturday, May 2 with the location yet to be determined as of this writing.

Are the rainy, stormy, up and down temperatures and tornado and flood watches done for now? What a week weather wise. Many places had damage, but lucky no one was injured. The TV weather people did a good job reporting to keep us safe and informed. One of the TV stations reported they had called Livingston Co-op Oil and Allie Oops in Livingston to see what was happening there. It was sad to see a tree blew down on Hazel Dell School during the storm and did some damage, but luckily it was boarded up. It’s another project for someone to repair to preserve our history.

If you’re interested in having a garage sale in the Rewey area, contact Jeanne 608-574-9402. Garage sales are May 6-9. Jeanne is accepting donations for the Cat Spay/Neuter and medical expense program. She doesn’t accept clothing. All proceeds go toward the program.

Sympathy is extended to the families of Herman Knight, 83 of Rewey. Services were on April 22 in Platteville.

Sympathy to the family or Norma Beirman. Her funeral will be April 24 in Platteville.

It was party time for Steve and Bonnie Jones as they celebrated family birthdays in Madison. A big crowd joined the fun as they celebrated Garrett on the 9th, Colette (Cocoa) on the 10th, who was 1 years old, Kia on the 14th and Darren and Kia’s wedding anniversary on the 11th. Memories were made for all to remember.

On Thursday, Bonnie and Steve were at the White Tail Resort in Monticello for a 75th birthday party. Friends from Darlington were there also.

The Iowa-Grant FFA Seeds & Supper Fundraiser was a success. They sold out and thank you all for supporting them Saturday evening.
