Mineral Point pitcher Tenleigh Bockhop delivered an impressive performance, going 3-for-4 at the plate and driving in five runs. On the mound, she allowed no hits and struck out eight batters over three innings. She issued one walk in recording the win. The Pointers defeated Southwestern 16-0 in five innings at Soldiers Memorial Park in Mineral Point. Reliever Aida Tuttle contributed two scoreless innings, surrendering no hits, striking out four.
Mineral Point broke the game open early, scoring six runs in both the first and second inning to gain an early 12-0 lead. The Pointers had 14 hits in the game. Jaydn Schultz was 2×3 at the plate and drove in three runs, while Austy Kinch went 2×2 and drove in a run. Tuttle, Maddy Kabat, Sophie Miller, Ava Ingwell, Chloe McVay, Leah Hoffman and Jaycee Tibbits all had one hit each and drove in runs.
Kabat, Tibbits and McVay each had a double in the game. Megan Roepsch took the loss in relief for Southwestern. Abigail Foley started the game.
After going 3-3 on their spring as of April 9 after shutting out both break games in Alabama, the Pointers are 2-0 in conference play Darlington and Southwestern.
