Molly Conkey will represent two wards of the city of Mineral Point on the Iowa County Board.
She polled the most write-in votes in the April 7 election, pending a canvass.
Conkey became interested in serving after talking to Justin O’Brien, who did not seek reelection after eight years on the board. No candidate filed to run.
“This is our community,” said Conkey, who moved to Mineral Point six years ago. “We love it. I want to be part of the community. The opportunity presented itself, and I took it.”
She begins her two-year term April 21.
