ARENA

The Wildlife Forever ATV Club is scheduled to meet on Monday, April 13, at 6:30 p.m. at the Arena VFW. The agenda for this meeting will include the Scholarship Committee selection and planning for the Summer Picnic.

The Arena Historians will hold its April monthly meeting on Monday, April 20th at 6:30 p.m. On that evening, we will remember and pay tribute to those who have recently passed away from the Arena community. The meeting, which is free to the general public, will be held at the Arena Diner (formerly Grandma Mary’s, in the Brisbane Hall section of the building), 175 US Hwy 14, Arena, WI. A live stream of the meeting via Zoom (see attached link) will be available for those who cannot attend in person. The fourth annual Community Appreciation Happy Hour for Hunger will be held Friday, April 10th from 4-7 p.m. at Duke’s Brew Pub & Ale House. Free hors d’oeuvres provided in appreciation for the community support they have received to help alleviate childhood hunger. Cash bar. All are welcome to learn more about the Dodger Food Locker as we complete our 10th school year!

Wisconsin Team To Discuss China’s Belt and Road Initiative when the CAPRC’s Wisconsin team will discuss the timely topic, “China’s Belt and Road Initiative” at 8:30 a.m., Saturday, April 11, at Jimmy’s Restaurant, in Dodgeville. The group meets on the second Saturday of each month to discuss timely geopolitical situations. No meeting in June. The group expects to welcome university students from Azerbaijan in July. Friend of Gov. Dodge Workday will be held Saturday, April 11th, from 9:00 a.m. to noon. Clear brush from around springhouses to prepare for new signage. Meet at park office. Park sticker required. Dodgeville United Methodist Church will hold a Pancake and More Breakfast on Sunday, April 12 from 8-11 a.m. Drive in, drive thru or delivery.

The annual Spring Rummage Sale at the United Methodist Church in Dodgeville will be held Friday, April 24 from 8-4 p.m. and Saturday, April25 from 8-noon. The bake sale is only on Saturday. There will be a “Bag Sale” on Saturday from 10-noon. There will be treasures of many kinds for the home and clothing in adult-children’s sizes.

IOWA COUNTY

Chief Meteorologist Alex Harrington will be the guest speaker at the Iowa County Historical Society’s Annual Spring Meeting on Saturday April 11 in the Community Room of the Iowa County Health and Human Services Center, 303 W Chapel Street in Dodgeville. His presentation will be a weatherman’s insight of the 1984 devastating Barneveld tornado. The public is invited and snacks and refreshments will be served.

Sleep in Heavenly Peace’s first community build for 2026, being held Saturday April 11 from 10 a.m.- 2 p.m. at Mueller Implements/Rental on YZ next to Farm and Fleet. No experience is needed as we will train and instruct so volunteers are comfortable and confident using the tools. A signed waiver is needed so they should sign-up with the link online
