The Mineral Point Pointers wrapped up their regular season in commanding style, rolling past the Boscobel Bulldogs with a decisive 68-37 victory.
Mineral Point set the tone early and never looked back, using balanced scoring and strong defensive pressure to build a comfortable lead. The Pointers controlled the tempo throughout the contest, steadily extending their advantage on both ends of the floor.
Drew Aschliman led the way for Mineral Point with 15 points, while Keaton Dempsey added 12 and Cole Ripp chipped in 11 in the winning effort.
Kiptyn Brown paced the Bulldogs with 16 points, accounting for much of Boscobel’s offensive production on the night.
With the win, the Pointers head into postseason play carrying momentum after an impressive regularseason finale.
“Four players led in a balanced attack against a team we struggled against early last game,” coach Bret McGraw said. “I really liked the way Cole Ripp came out right away and was really active down low for us. His teammates found him and he converted when he got his opportunities.”
“Keaton Dempsey attacked the hoop very well and really set the tone for the first half,” McGraw said. . “Drew Aschliman was able to affect the game a number of ways while also leading us in scoring.” “I really like the way Brylen Lee has played the last month,” McGraw continued. “He is shooting the ball very confidently and his teammates continue to find him.”
“This was a nice win and a really good way for 11 seniors to wrap up their final regular season. We are really proud of the job we have done up to this point, but we know there is still a lot left to accomplish this season,” McGraw said.
