DODGEVILLE

Members of the Kiwanis Club of Dodgeville-sponsored Builders Club will be the guest presenters at the March 10 meeting of the Kiwanis club. The middle school organization is a service organization patterned after the adult-level Kiwanis and high school-level Key Club. Builders Club members will update Kiwanis members and guests on their activities during the 2025-26 school year and what they have planned for the future. The public is invited and encouraged to attend the meeting, scheduled for noon at The Dodger Bowl. Lunch is available off the menu but is optional. A Spring Splurge Vendor & Craft Fair will be held Sun., March 22 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Dodger Bowl, 321 King St. Proceeds to benefit Eastern Star School Scholarships. Free admission and food available.

March 6 is World Day of Prayer 2026. WDP is an ecumenical celebration of informed prayer and prayerful action. Join in a service written by the women of Nigeria. The theme is inspired by Matthew 11:28-30. “I Will Give You Rest: Come.” This service is being sponsored by Grace Lutheran Church, 1105 N. Bequette St., Dodgeville on Friday, March 6 at 1:00 p.m.

Free movie March 12 – An Oscar nominee is the last of three free movies shown this winter through a collaboration of the Mineral Point Public Library and the Opera House.

The name of the movie that runs March 12 is available on the library website news and events page.

The movie starts at 7 p.m. at the Mineral Point Opera House. Concessions will be available for purchase.

The Southwest Wisconsin Cornish Society will sponsor their annual St. Piran’s Day meal and program Sunday, March 8 at the Walker House. A Mens Bible Study will meet every Tues morning at 9:30 a.m. at the home of Norm Johnson, 908 Fountain Street in Mineral Point. IOWA COUNTY

The Wildlife Forever ATV Meeting will be Monday, April 13, 2026 at 6:30 pm at The Arena VFW. The March meeting has been cancelled. Agenda items will include Scholarship results and Summer Picnic.

Hear about the 40th Wisconsin Infantry in 1865 Wednesday, March 18 at 1:00 p.m. at the Driftless Historian in Mount Horeb. A presentation will be given by History Educator John Helmenstine with a period rifle demonstration by Civil War Historian Paul Zehren. Hear about the history of the 49th Wisconsin Infantry formation at Camp Randall toits service in Western Missouri, including the experience of soldiers before ande after the war.

FREE Tax Filing Assistance Available – Volunteer Tax-Aide counselors trained and certified by the IRS will provide one-on-one assistance helping low-to-moderate income or older individuals complete and file their tax returns. This includes 1040 tax forms with schedules A,B, C and D along with the corresponding Wisconsin forms and the Homestead Tax Credit.

Volunteers are available in Spring Green and in Dodgeville by appointment only.
