Vikings battle two strong opponents

Darlington edged the Viking Monday in a non-conference softball game.

Score was 8-3.

For the Vikings Sam Hittesdorf pitched four innings, giving up five earned runs while striking out two and walking one.

Jenna Kurschner pitched the last two innings with three earned runs, a strikeout and three walks.

Brooklyn Muench was 2×3 with 3 stolen bases to lead the hitting. The Vikings put out a strong effort against the higher division MHB Vikings, losing 6-3 in their season opener.

Sam Hittesdorf pitched six innings, striking out one with no walks. She gave up eight hits and three earned runs.

Pecatonica scored three runs on eight hits and had six stolen bases. Brooklyn Johnsrud was 2×4 with an RBI and a run scored. She recorded two stolen bases.

Brooklyn Muench was 2×3 with a double and one stolen base.

Katelynn Jorenby and Tatum Kurschner each had an RBI. Jorenby, Gretta Schraepfer, Maddie Meddaugh and Jenna Kurschner all had hits.
