It’s Holy Week and churches have special services. On April 3 – Holy Thursday workship is at 6:00 p.m. at Belmont Methodist, Good Friday at Rewey Community Church is 6:00 p.m. April 3 Peniel Church has Good Friday services at 5:30 with fellowship following. April 5 Easter Services has worship in Rewey at 8:30 a.m., Belmont Methodist at 10:00, Peniel at 8:00 and 10:00 a.m. Everyone is welcome at any of the services to celebrate “He Is Risen”.
The annual Easter Egg hunt will be on Easter Sunday (April 5) at noon at the Rewey Community Park. The Easter Bunny is going to be in Rewey to see all the excited kids. Please bring a bucket of bag for your candy. Rain date is April 12.
Sunday, April 12 is the Rewey Fire Department Pancake Breakfast at the fire station from 8:00-noon. They are serving their delicious pancakes, sausage, scrambled eggs, applesauce, orange juice, milk and coffee. All proceeds go toward new equipment. Please support our Rewey Volunteer Fire Department and First Responders as they are on call 24/7 365 days a year.
Softball and baseball season is starting and so is our changable weather. This week it’s 70 plus de- grees on Monday and possible snow on Thursday. If you plan to attend spring sporting events, don’t put your winter clothing away as you may need it. Good luck to our spring sports teams.
Sympathy is extended to the family of Ruby Moen, 95 of Montfort, She passed away on March 24 with the funeral services on Saturday, March 28 at the Montfort United Methodist Church. Ruby was well known in this area as she was employed at Redy-Roast Feeds in Rewey several years ago. If you knew Ruby, you never forgot her.
Mark your calendars for Mifflin Township Clean Up Day on April 18. Hours are 8:00-4:00 at the recycling shed. There is a charge for some items.
