Barneveld girls basketball coach holds state record

Barneveld’s girls basketball coach Jimmy Myers reached the plateau of becoming the all-time winningest coach in Wisconsin girls basketball history on Thursday night, January 23 when he recorded win number 711, surpassing Al Guthman of Owen-Withee. Barneveld won the game over Juda 86-27.. Myers returned to Barneveld this season for his second stint as the program's head coach. He previously spent 38 years leading the girls basketball program and added two seasons leading the boys team. On the girls side he has won six state championships and was runner-up three times. He also won a boys state title in 2017, Celebrating with him following his historic win were varsity members (l-r) Eliza Gordon, Jayda Oimoen, Aleea Norton, Erin Lasse, Kaylie Oimoen, Coach Jimmy, Mya Norton, Tatum Thousand, Bryn Meyer, Rowan Valcheff, Izabel Durst and Hannah Esch.
