Congress did not approve
Dear Editor,
Waking up last weekend with bombs dropping in Iran was unexpected unthinkable and shameful. The death toll as of today is over 1300, and includes 7 American soldiers and many Iranian school children during a strike by the US. Congress did not approve this aggression. Many Americans oppose this war , an unprovoked one at that. We continue hearing about the ICE’s immigration hunt grabbing people on their way to work or school in Minneapolis and incidents in Wisconsin. Republicans and the MAGA regime continues to push the SAVE act in order to suppress voter rights knowing they have a challenge ahead at midterms. People are struggling to make ends meet due to job loss, reduced healthcare benefits and food costs. And now gas is increasing.
When our families are under attack and costs are pushing people to the edge silence is not an option. We must speak out against the unjust and cruel acts of violence. America does not belong to strongmen, greedy billionaires, or those who rule through fear. It belongs to us!
Join us Saturday March 28th at 10:00 a.m. at the Courthouse parking lot in Dodgeville for the National No Kings nonviolent and peaceful protest! Let’s speak out for a democracy that works for all of us. One that behaves with the American ideals and Constitutional order that we have lived with for the last 250 years. Hope to see you there.
