Concern - help - pleading

Dear Editor,

A letter to the editor – concern, asking for help, pleading for action to keep us from disaster as a nation, and as a planet.  I really would rather write one that says, “Good job.  Well done.”

Certainly, many people are doing their best, but the one who still holds the power, and the team which is using him more than he is using them, are either certifiable or totally unscrupulous.  Does no one know how this government is supposed to work, or how to do their jobs within the framework of our democracy?

Sorry if I sound a little panicky, but I am that…panicked…most seriously at midnight and on into the dark of the night.

I am in no shape to demonstrate, physically, so I am sending this to our local paper as my attempt to stand up for our democracy, or at least for mindful citizenship.

When I go on the website to https://myvote.wi.gov/en-us/Whats-On-My-Ballot, mine says the next election is April 7th.  I know a likely way to begin preparing is not only at the state level, but by attending local County Board and School Board meetings, reading the local paper and watching for information on candidates’ town halls in the mail.

That sounds like a lot of work, but if I don’t do that, who’s to say what will happen with those who seek office and those who are supposed to be doing the job right now?
