No more lawlessness
Dear Editor,
Division in our country isn’t about politics. After Trump appeared on our presidential ballots, he transformed policy-making into crass showmanship and manufactured crises designed to smokescreen truth.
On January 6, 2021 I witnessed an insurrection ignited by Trump. Four people died and four more as a result of the violence that day. Four were police officers heroically doing their jobs. The insurrectionists were charged with federal crimes, many tried and convicted in court. Trump pardoned them all.
On January 7, 2026 I witnessed Renee Good of Minneapolis get shot in the head by a masked ICE agent while she slowly steered her car out of the way. Vice President Vance and Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem called Good a domestic terrorist and defended her murder.
These are two of many instances illustrating this regime’s blatant disregard for human life and justice. While everyone else is expected to follow the rule of law, Trump breaks it to aggrandize himself. He bullies opponents with violent threats, operating like a mob boss, not a legitimate policy maker.
Tell your legislators, “No more!” Or the lawlessness will continue. I’ve seen it with my own eyes. So have you.
Sincerely,
Sue Kies
