Eagles use both ends of the court in win over Ridge
It is a given that the Barneveld girls basketball team is successful shooting.
They led a good River Ridge team 30-14 at halftime. Izzy Durst scored 14 of her 21 points during the opening period run and Rowan Valcheff contributed nine of her 10.
But it was also the defense that allowed the Golden Eagles to claim the big lead and go on to handle the Timberwolves 61-43.
Add in some Hannah Esch who had 17 points including a strong 12 the second half.
“We had a very good first half and that allowed us to play a lot of girls the second half,” Eagles coach Jim Myers said.
Eight girls scored in the win.
