Wittman Jr., Walter "Blaine"



Walter "Blaine" Wittman Jr., age 73, passed peacefully on Friday, December 26th, 2025, in Dodgeville, Wisconsin.  He was the oldest child of Walter and Delores Wittman, born on July 11th, 1952, in Dodgeville, Wisconsin.

Blaine began his farming career as a toddler, feeding cows with his bucket and attending farm sales alongside his dad.  A four-year member of the Mount Horeb High School FFA, he raised a Holstein bull as part of an FFA project.  He grew up on the family farm in Mount Horeb and graduated in 1971.  

His pride and joy was being a dairy herdsman, improving the heard through milk testing and artificial insemination.  He later became an inseminator, servicing the family farm and the surrounding farming community. 

Blaine owned and managed multiple Holstein herds, later switching to Jerseys, with his final herd being registered as Windmill Hill Jerseys.  He also enjoyed bowling and sharing extra cheese pizza with family and friends. 

In 2017, he moved to Dodgeville, where he helped care for his mother alongside his brother.  He was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses and was an active member of the Dodgeville Congregation. 

He is survived by his siblings Randall (Loida) Wittman, Brenda Allard, Pam (Dale) Nelson, and Craig Wittman; five nieces and nephews, Matthew, Cozzette, Scott, Jason, and Kristina; and seven grandnieces and grandnephew, along with many cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother, Bruce.

The family would like to thank CrestRidge Senior Living in Dodgeville, Wisconsin, for their kind care and support, as well as Dodgeville Agrace Hospice for their compassion and assistance. 

A memorial service will be held on January 7th, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Lulloff-Peterson-Houck Funeral Home in Dodgeville, Wisconsin.  Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. until the time of serve. The service will be conducted by members of the Dodgeville Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. The Lulloff-Peterson-Houck Funeral Home is assisting the family.
