Schools are the heart of a community
Dear Editor,
Seven years ago we decided to move to Wisconsin. We knew we wanted to live near Madison, however, did not have a specific location in mind.
The first thing I did when evaluating potential cities was look at the schools. One of the reasons we chose to live in Dodgeville was the school. Over the years I have been pleasantly surprised by the opportunities and offerings of the schools. My children are receiving an excellent education and are fortunate to be involved in many extracurricular activities. Due to the inability of the State to properly fund school districts, the Dodgeville school district has once again been forced to go to the voters with an operating referendum.
Schools are the heart of a community. If you do not have a good school, people are less likely to move to your city, which will result in a slow decline of the community. I urge everyone to support the Dodgeville school district and the Dodgeville community as a whole by voting YES on the referendum on April 7th.
