Cardinals hold down Belmont
Highland sophomore Celia Oleson poured in 18 points to help ignite the Cardinals who rolled to a 46-28 win over Belmont in a Six Rivers West game Thursday.
The Lady Braves scored the first four points of the game and it wasn’t until the midway mark the first half before Highland got on the board.
For the Cardinals it was the start of more offense. For the Braves it was not as they only managed five points before intermission.
Sophia Tarrell also reached double figures with 12 points and Adilyn Esser had a strong first half with nine.
“Celia had a very good game and Adilyn helped run the show,” Highland coach Josh Tarrell said.
“It was a slow start but we got going and I am proud of the effort,” Tarrell added. “We played well most of the game.”
“Belmont is a good team and the win gives us momentum moving into the post season,” noted Tarrell.
