We need to stop them
Dear Editor,
Last week I attended the Waldwick town board meeting where Michael Goff from Pattern Energy gave an update on the Uplands Wind East project. This 300MW wind energy project is projected to have 51+ wind turbines, estimated to be 700’ tall. 30 concerned constituents in attendance asked questions and received very vague answers.
Mr Goff has been attending county and town meetings and is open to questions about the wind turbine projects. Some questions were not directly answered. I questioned him about Uplands Wind West, they are still pursuing this project and will be sending out 90 day notices soon. These projects are not done deals yet. Both of these projects need to go to the PSC for approval.
We need to do what we can to stop these from ruining our picturesque area. We need to keep health and safety as a priority for area residents. Where was Mr Goff 6 years ago when Pattern representatives started signing landowners up? Information about the project should have been public before any contracts were signed. Now is the time, more than ever, to get involved with this life changing project.
Visit No-Uplands.com for more information. Attend local meetings and ask questions.
