Highland Lions Fisheree spread out at Blackhawk Lake

The weather was warmer at around 20 degrees and the ice was perfect and thick with just a little snow cover Saturday for the Highland Lions Club’s Annual Dean Olson Fisheree held at Blackhawk Lake, between Highland and Cobb on Highway 80.

Fishing took place mainly in two areas, the upper and lower lakes. And there were more activities like ice skating and games for the kids (top left photo). The top right photo shows a group way out on the ice at the upper lake. The bottom left photo shows what you do when the fishing is done - you bring your gear back to your vehicle. At right are a group of warming tents with fishermen inside. There is also one lone fisherman braving the outside.
