Rosemarie Ruth Lenz, 84, of Dodgeville, passed away at home on April 11, 2026, surrounded by her family after an extended illness.
Born November 18, 1941, at her family home in Barneveld, Wisconsin, to Walter and Ruth Lindeman, Rosemarie grew up in the Garrison Grove and Highland areas and proudly graduated from Cobb High School in 1959.
Before marriage, she worked in the St. Joseph Hospital kitchen. After marrying Martin Lenz, Jr. in August 1963, she spent the next 62 years as a devoted farm wife, tending the animals and land with steady dedication and pride.
Rosemarie is survived by her husband, Martin; her children, Bill (Lori), Kathy (Pat), and Thomas (Lecia); her grandchildren, Ashley (Ben), Kylie (Caleb), Emily (Andrew), Grace, and Aiden; and several great‑grandchildren. She cherished her roles as wife, mother, grandmother, and great‑grandmother above all else. She is further survived by her in-laws, Joan Lindeman, Leonard Lenz and John Husum.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her 5 siblings. She was the last surviving member of Walter and Ruth's children.
Her faith grounded her throughout her life. She quietly served for many years as the Bethlehem Lutheran Church Ladies Aide secretary.
When not working on the farm, she found joy in sketching horses and flowers with her grandchildren, gardening, and cooking—especially making delicious pasties without a recipe, a talent no one else in her family could quite replicate. Her common response when asked what the secret was, "This is all I do!"
She loved trying new dessert recipes shared by the ladies she met at the many antique tractor shows she attended yearly. In her later years, she enjoyed the simple routine of watching the Hallmark channel and Wheel of Fortune.
Rosemarie will be remembered for her warm presence, practical wisdom, sense of humor, and contagious giggles. She found humor and laughter in most everything!
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at Lulloff-Peterson-Houck Funeral Home, Dodgeville beginning at 9:30 am until the time of service.
