Mary Jane Wright, age 92, of Mineral Point, WI passed away on March 30, 2026 at Crest Ridge Assisted Living in Dodgeville, WI. She was born on January 13, 1934 in Beloit, WI, the daughter of Francis and Mary Carroll. She married Everett (Fritz) Wright on December 22, 1954 in Beloit, WI. Fritz’s job took them to Mineral Point early in their marriage where they resided the rest of their lives.
Mary Jane was a lifelong member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church which she attended regularly. All the priests who came and went knew Mary Jane. She spent many hours volunteering in many capacities with the church.
Mary Jane enjoyed helping people. She volunteered at the Mineral Point Care Center, saying the rosary with patients or just stopping in to visit. Mary Jane rarely missed a televised Bucks game or Badger basketball. She had a love for animals, especially dogs. She kept busy with her hobbies crocheting, garage sales, and sewing alterations out of her home for others.
She is survived by her two children: daughter Cindy Schaaf (Norbert) and son Jim Wright (Patty); six grandchildren: Jenny Tibbits (Mike), Angie Sullivan (Gary), Michelle Klusendorf (Chad), Brett Wright (Trisha), Brian Wright and Stephanie Wright; and thirteen great grandchildren: Jimmy Tibbits, Jaycee Tibbits, Kylie Muench (Gavyn), Lucas Sullivan, Allie Sullivan, Everly Klusendorf, Bryson Klusendorf, Declan Klusendorf, Maevyn Klusendorf, Jackson Deminsky, Oakley Forrester, Noa Forrester, and Valencia Wright.
Mary Jane was preceded in death by her mother Mary Carroll and husband Fritz Wright.
The family will have a private burial on Wednesday, April 8, 2026 at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Mineral Point.
Mary Jane was a force of nature who loved talking and having good natured arguments with everyone she knew. Always greeting people with a loud hello and “What are you doing here?” Then a big laugh and a hug. She will be missed by many.
Memorials can be made to Mineral Point Fire Station, Mineral Point Public Library, or Agrace Hospice care. The family would like to thank all the nurses and staff at Crest Ridge Memory Care and Agrace Hospice for the love and affection they gave her.
