Bedtka, Thomas Roger

Edmund – Thomas Roger Bedtka, age 70, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Monday, March 30, 2026.

He was born on May 17, 1955, in Dubuque, IA to Bernard and Caroline (Kahn) Bedtka. He worked as a union carpenter for 30 years.

His life passion was performing on the keyboard and sharing his music with others. It brought him great joy for decades, to know that his music touched so many. Though his keys now silent; the music will play on in our hearts. Now he can play that beautiful music with the angels.

In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his siblings Patty, Ron, Larry, and Linda Bedtka.

Tom is survived by the love of his life, Debra Sue Bedtka (Barker); his daughter Tracy Lynn (Adam) Schroeder of Albany, WI; his grandchildren Brandi (Phenix) Katt, Bailey Schroeder, and Dominic Schroeder; his great grandchildren Kain and Tabitha Katt; his surviving siblings Lucy (Ron) Britt, Diane (Don) Holz , Dave (Jeanette) Bedtka, Tammy Smith, Laura Frommelt.

No formal services will be held at this time.

A Celebration of Thomas' Life will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2026 from 12:30 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at SWISS VALLEY PARK - 1st Pavillion, 13069 Swiss Valley Road, Peosta, IA 52068.
