Narveson, Lois S.

Lois S. Narveson, age 91, of Dodgeville, passed away into eternal life on Palm Sunday, March 29, 2026.

She was born in Dodgeville on July 22, 1934, the only child of Leo and Stella (Forseth) Owens. Lois met Gerald Narveson of Highland one night at the Spring Green Roller Rink and the rest was history. They were married on November 1, 1952 at St. John Lutheran Church in Richland Center. Together they shared the joys and sorrows of 73 years as a couple.

Lois and Gerald farmed north of Dodgeville for many years before moving to Dodgeville in 1970. She was employed by Dodgeville Veterinary Service as an office receptionist until retiring in 1999. At one time, she knew almost every farmer in Iowa County. Lois enjoyed time camping, card playing and video games on her tablet. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church.

Lois is survived by her husband Gerald of Dodgeville; her daughter Suzanne Gromoff of Lynnwood, WA; her three sons Paul of Oshkosh, Gerry (Marie) of San Antonio, TX and Neil (Theresa) of Fitchburg; her grandchildren Nicholas (Nikki) Narveson, Natalie (Kyle) Hiatt, Elary (fiancé Caitlin Cook) Gromoff, Alex (Eva Denison) Narveson, Brandon (Alison) Narveson, Erica (Alex) Williams, Cory (Valerie) Narveson, McCall Narveson, Andrea (Sam Theno) Narveson, Lindsey (Uriel) Narveson-Reyes, Justin Narveson; great grandchildren Aaron Narveson, Zuri Narveson, Evelyn and Frances Hiatt, Morgan, Adelynn, Brynley, Emmett, Emerson and Stella Narveson; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her daughters Luanne and Joyce, her son Eric, her son-in-law Elary Gromoff, her parents and in-laws.

Funeral services will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at the GORGEN-McGINLEY & AYERS FUNERAL HOME in Dodgeville with Vicar Jill Dybdahl officiating. Interment will take place in East Side Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. until 5:50 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
