What the numbers tell us
by J. Patrick Reilly
It has been said that numbers don’t lie but do they tell a complete story?
At this time of year postal regulations require publications to publish a statement of ownership. That document includes the number of subscribers for each of our publications.
While it would be nice to se an upwards swing to the totals that is usually not the case. The good thing is that our numbers remain somewhat consistent.
The variable comes in with how many people does one issue serve? We have ben told that the husband or wife reads it first then passes it to their spouse. Often the paper goes to the neighbors or a relative or anyone else who wants it.
Often one family will subscribe to one paper which their neighbor subscribes to another one, then they switch.
The key is, that newspapers get read and often times buy several people.
We are happy with that. We publish the papers for our readers and enjoy doing it.
So while we are talking about publishing the papers we need to know if we are missing something you want to read. Drop a note, email or give us a call.
We want to be your news source of choice.
