Homecoming a special time

Homecoming.

The term actually means “coming home.”  

All schools have one and gear it both toward the student body and the alumni.  Unfortunately it is hard to get the event well attended by alumni.

It kind of comes down to pride.  How many of us are proud that we attended a certain school.  Do we actually take the time to reflect on the good things that happened and the friendships we made?

I was talking to a group of students once and asked them to look at the person on their right and on their left.  I then asked them if they thought the friendship today will continue to the 20th reunion.  I’ll bet not.

So, take some time and reflect on what your school meant to you growing up.  Take some time to celebrate the good memories and if you are close by, witness some of the Homecoming activities.

It doesn’t hurt to remember.
