Crime rates in U.S.

Dear Editor,

I looked up the reported Crime Rates of America’s largest 200 cities per 100,000 people in 2024.

Washington D.C. 925 accounts

Denver, CO 993

Chicago, IL 539

Anchorage, Alaska over 1000

Florida failed to report but when searched: Miami 4890, Tampa 1855

Milwaukee, WI 1430

Memphis, TN 2500

Houston, Tx over 1000

New Orleans, LA 1145

These are violent crimes based on the 2010 census report - murder, rape, burglary/armed.

I counted about 30 cities with rime rates near double of Chicago. What is going on?
