Cell phone policy working well at Highland w
The cell phone policy that allows the use only during the noon hour seems to be going well, the Highland School Board learned Wednesday.
Principal Ashley Halvorson said there have only been five instances that needed addressing and only one social media issue.
Halvorson and District Administrator Josh Tarrell agreed staff feels the policy is working well.
The policy calls for cell phones to be placed in lockers upon arrival then can be used during lunch break. They then must be returned to the lockers until dismissal.
The board was introduced to two new staff members who were present at the meeting. Carter Wiegel, a Darlington native, will be teaching in the middle school. He is a UW-Platteville graduate and student taught at Fennimore.
