Busy night for Dodgeville School Board
Work continues on preparing for an operational referendum for the Dodgeville School District once again.
District Administrator Ryan Bohnsack discussed numbers the district is facing and presented them to the board. He said creating the report is a work in progress and said he hopes to get it to the level where when the public would look at it, and it would present an understandable picture.
“How do we present fund balance to the public,” he asked the board. He said as the year moves on the fund will ebb and flow. In effect it is a savings account and a way to avoid short term borrowing.
Bohnsack likened it to a household savings account where decisions are made each week or month on what is needed.
“It is not a pot of money that sits there,” he said. “It is not a savings account. It is something we have to use.”
Bohnsack also discussed the restrictions there are on a fund account.
