Barbara L. Easterhouse
Oct. 16, 1927 - Sept. 6, 2025
DODGEVILLE/MADISON - Barbara Louise Easterhouse died on September 6, 2025, at Agrace HospiceCare, in the presence of her family, 40 days short of 98 years. Barbara was born on October 16, 1927, in Pardeeville, Wis., to Clair William Reynolds and Christina Belle Reynolds (nee Kohler).
Barbara was a graduate of Pardeeville High School, and following graduation went to Garden Grove California where she lived with her grandparents and worked in the office of a defense contractor for the war effort. Following World War II, Barbara moved back to Pardeeville and worked as a teller at a local bank. In 1948 she married George Easterhouse, and they lived in Chicago, Ill., before returning to Wisconsin where they began their family in Green Bay where Karen was born, and then to Dodgeville where Tom was born. Barbara worked at a title company and then as a legal secretary while in Dodgeville, Barb and George enjoyed spending time at their lake home on White Fish Lake near Hayward, and it became their residence for about 12 years, then they then moved to Tucson, Ariz., for 10 years, before returning to Wisconsin in 2005 where they lived in the Madison area.
Barbara’s faith was a steady foundation throughout her life. She expressed her love through her many passions. Barbara was a fabulous seamstress, a wonderful baker, and a creative spirit who enjoyed crafts and reading. But above all her greatest joy was found in times spent with her family. After George's retirement, the two shared adventures traveling together, treasuring every moment.
Barbara was preceded in death by George in 2014; her parents, brothers and many other family and friends. She is survived by her daughter, Karen (Bill) Caine of Florissant, Mo.; son, Tom of Fitchburg, Wis.; grandkids, Jason (Julie) Caine and Lindsay (Mike) Diaz; and three great-granddaughters, Taylor, Alexis, and Peyton Warren, all from the St. Louis area.
We are ever so grateful for the care our mother received at Brookdale Senior Living, SSM Home Health and Agrace HospiceCare. Although her presence will be missed, Barbara's unconditional love, wisdom and laughter will live on with those who knew her.
A private family burial will be held at Pardeeville Cemetery. A celebration of her life will be announced at a later date.
Memorials in Barbara’s name may be made to Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.
