Harms, Diane Palsrok

DODGEVILLE - Diane Palsrok Harms, age 82, of Dodgeville, passed away on Sunday, October 26, 2025. She was born on February 1, 1943, in Baltimore, Md., the daughter of John and Lonnie (Velten) Palsrok.

Diane married Robert Harms on August 25, 1965, in Ocean City, Md. They had two children, Kimberly and Keith.

Diane graduated from St. Josephs School of Nursing in Baltimore, Md., in 1965. Due to Robert’s work with the VA hospital system, the family moved frequently. Diane was a coronary care staff nurse at various hospitals until she became head nurse of critical care in 1981.

Diane obtained her Bachelor of Science in health arts while she was raising two children. Subsequently, she obtained a Master of Arts in health services management. This led to her roles as Director of Patient Care Services as well as ultimately the Director of Nursing in a long-term care facility.

Diane’s father was a Colonel in the U.S. Army, and she was proud to call herself an “army brat.” She and her sister travelled worldwide with their parents. Diane cared deeply for people and continued her role in health care by volunteering at Upland Hills Hospital. She was always willing to talk politics and made it her mission to ensure her grandchildren were well informed.

She loved gambling with her best friend, Toni, and every winter, the “traveling widows” drove to Ariz. or Fla.

Diane loved her children very much and devoted herself to raising them. Ultimately though, her favorite topic of conversation was her grandchildren. She enjoyed going to their sporting events as long as the weather was decent! She was so proud of them and excited to see them grow into successful adults.

Diane is survived by her daughter, Kimberly (Dean) Vogel; son, Keith (Cindy) Harms; grandchildren, Tyler Vogel, Ryan Vogel, Allie Vogel, Nathan Harms and Jacob Harms; sister, Linda (Sheldon) Gilbert; and special friend, Toni Davis. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Harms; parents, John and Lonnie; and infant grandchild, Sarah Vogel.

A Celebration of Life will be held at IMMANUEL LUTHERAN CHURCH, 310 W. Main St., Mount Horeb, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 15, 2025, with the Rev. Jared Parmley presiding. Visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until the service on Saturday.

The family would like to thank the UW Carbone Center and Agrace HospiceCare for their compassionate care for Diane during her treatments and her final days in her daughter’s home.

Memorials may be made to UW Carbone Center or Agrace HospiceCare. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.
