Thank you, No Kings Protestors
Dear Editor,
I’m grateful for the No Kings Protest that took place on Saturday. The protestors reminded me of something that I often forget. We live in the greatest country in the world. Whereas in many other countries the protestors would have promptly been arrested and marched off to prison, they were able to stand peacefully expressing their opinions. Isn’t this the freedom that our country was founded upon, the freedom that we love and rejoice in as Americans?
The No Kings protestors reminded me that our nation was grounded on the principles of freedom of speech and expression. Ironically, many of these protestors believe in silencing those who don’t agree with them, as evidenced by the very recent assassination of Charlie Kirk, and the applause or silence from many on the Left in decrying that evil action.
The No Kings protestors reminded me of what a great President we have. I, for one, am thankful for him. He loves our country and fights for it with every ounce of his energy. He isn’t perfect, but who is? His America First policies are benefitting our nation. We are safer because of him. Our borders are more secure. Our streets are not as violent. I am grateful for this President and his administration. America is safe and thriving; that helps all of us.
The No Kings protestors reminded me that Conservatives, for the most part, are incredibly peaceful. There was no violent reaction to the nonsense that the protestors were purporting, just amusement. Conservatives generally don’t throw temper tantrums, they don’t burn down cities, they don’t loot and rob businesses when they don’t get their way. While the No Kings protestors were alleging something that doesn’t exist (i.e. a “king”), their Republican counterparts were peacefully continuing on in what they do best: working. What a great country we live in, truly.
Isn’t it wonderful that we live in a prosperous nation of freedom of speech, freedom to choose where we live and work, freedom to pursue the American dream, freedom to select what schools our children attend, freedom to worship in the way that we are personally convicted, freedom to disagree, debate, and engage without shutting another view down through violence or intimidation?
I am grateful for these freedoms. I can’t imagine protesting when we should be rejoicing and praising God for the incredible blessing that He has given us in placing us in this nation.
But I uphold the protestors’ right to protest.
Because once again, it proves something to me. America is a great nation. We are blessed beyond measure to live here. The very fact that these protestors were able to protest proves yet one more time that our President is not a fascist. He is not a dictator. He is not a King. He is a lawfully-elected official in a free democracy. By protesting freely, they consequently negated their own position. Well done, and God bless America.
