Support for No King’s Rally

Dear Editor,

I want to express my strong support for all those who participated in the No Kings March and Rallies on October 18th.  I am heartened by the strength and solidarity of all who showed up to express their love of America and their opposition to authoritarianism.  In Dodgeville, the large crowd included  so many young families and also many elders, including those with mobility issues.  It was a celebration of the qualities of caring for neighbors and protecting the rights of all.  We can harness this energy and creativity and compassion and keep exercising our First Amendment rights. To know that this same outpouring of non-violent and joyful protest was happening throughout our state and our country gives me hope that we can maintain our democracy.  Resistance is critical right now.
