Novak's aide stunningly rude
Dear Editor,
On October 16, we attended a Rally against Gerrymandering at the State Capitol. It is true that Wisconsin has fairer maps now, but there is no guarantee of that in the future without a law to require that the maps be drawn by a nonpartisan group of citizens, not the self-interested legislators.
After the rally, we were asked to deliver the draft proposal for such a law to our representatives. The aide in Senator Marklein's office graciously accepted the papers, as one would expect of one's representatives.
In direct contrast, the aide in Representative Novak's office was stunningly rude. He refused to listen to us, constantly interrupting and contradicting us. As a final insult, when one of us politely asked if she could have his business card, he jerked it away and said that he didn't want anything more to do with us.
How is it possible that this man is the public face of Rep. Novak, who claims to be bipartisan, support fair maps, and be concerned about the opinions of all his constituents?
