No Kings Dodgeville

Dear Editor,

The Rural No Kings Rally in Dodgeville on October 18th was a huge success - peaceful, joyful, uplifting and big!  It was a day to celebrate solidarity and pride in our community.  We had over 800 people participate - from toddlers to a 99 year old great grandmother!  There are so many people who made October 18 successful - those who planned it, those who participated, those who were able to support it by spreading the word, and those who provided financial donations and discounts.  Our speakers and musicians donated their time to be present.  As a critical part of our success, we are immensely grateful to Ben Gruber, John Nichols, Sarah Keyeski, Dick Cates, Scott Stieber, Red Door Duo and the Philip Brothers!  We also appreciate the support provided by the City of Dodgeville and the Dodgeville Police Department.  The No Kings organization, composed of hundred of partners including Indivisible, provided training, encouragement, tools and materials to aid those of us organizing No King Days locally.

Our biggest thank you goes to all of YOU from throughout the region and beyond who came, marched, and had fun!  YOU helped us raise $750 for the Southwest Wisconsin Community Action Program (SWCAP) - a program that helps to address poverty in five counties in Southwest Wisconsin and a program that is needed now more than ever.

On behalf of Indivisible Southwest Wisconsin’s leadership team and the No Kings planning team, THANK YOU ALL!  You can be in touch with us by emailing

indivisiblesouthwestwi@gmail.com.  Our next meeting is November 9, 4-5 pm at Merrimac & Main in Dodgeville.
