Schult, Margaret M.

MONTFORT - Margaret M. Schult, age 70, passed away on Friday October 17, 2025, at Mineral Point Health Services. She was born on September 16, 1955, the daughter of Clement and Thelma (Lee) Riley. Margaret was united in marriage to Dan Schult in Platteville on May 1, 1976.

Margaret was a hardworking and devoted wife, mother, and friend who always put her heart into everything she did. She found her greatest joy in spending time with her family and close friends—whether gathering for holidays, sharing laughter at the cabin in Wisconsin Dells, or enjoying the company of her Livingston Ladies Club. Her warmth, humor, and dedication built lasting bonds with everyone she met.

When she wasn’t working or caring for those she loved, Margaret enjoyed life’s adventures—especially time on the open road with Dan. Their trips to Sturgis, Daytona Bike Week, and scenic Harley rides were cherished escapes, filled with shared memories and laughter. In her younger years, she also loved playing softball and bowling, always bringing the same energy and team spirit that defined every part of her life.

Margaret is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Dan Schult; their children, Tracy (Jim Dufty) Schult and Jason (Chelsea) Schult; and her granddaughter, Penelope Schult. She is further survived by her siblings, Michael (Sitsy Koeller) Riley, C. Frank Riley, Pat (Rita) Riley, and Bridget (Dan) Bollant; her sister-in-law, Dee Riley; father-in-law, Donald Schult; sisters- and brothers-in-law, Cindy Ragen, Randy (Karen) Schult, Alan Schult, and Kevin (Tonja) Schult; as well as her lifelong friend, Mary Mumm. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Mary Ann (Bill) Clark; brothers, Bill and John Riley; sisters-in-law, Judy Riley, Dixie Riley, and Sheri Schult; mother-in-law, Patricia Schult; and goddaughter, Clemmie Bollant.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at the Soman-Larson Funeral Home in Montfort, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place after the service at Rock Church Cemetery in rural Livingston. Following the burial, family and friends are invited to a luncheon and celebration of life for Margaret at My Turn North in Livingston.
