Health and Human Services sets grant awards

The Iowa County Health and Human Services committee met to discuss requests of the Robert G. Campbell Community Fund 2025 cycle and the Opioid Settlement Funds Grant. The Arena Meal site was the other business on the agenda. 

Arena Manor is where the local Iowa County Senior Nutrition Program congregate meal site is located. Arena Manor is housing for seniors or other adults with disabilities. All of Iowa County gets meals that are prepared, portioned, and balanced for seniors from the Iowa County Law Enforcement Center in Dodgeville. 

The discussion centered on whether to keep as a congregate and home delivery or to just operate home delivery at the manor and in the surrounding community. The ADRC and Social Services have been staffing the meal site, which in the first 80 days has meant 360 staff hours with an increased unbudgeted wage cost of $6,120. This discussion was necessary to report to the Greater Wisconsin Agency on Aging Resources. GWAAR has oversight of the ADRC and the Senior Meal Program...
