Van Natta, Cindy Lou

Cindy Lou Van Natta, 69, of Plain, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 7, 2025 surrounded by her family. Cindy was born on June 11, 1956 in Green Bay, Wisconsin to James and Ruth (Nelson) Van Natta. Cindy attended Green Bay Southwest High School, where she was involved in cheerleading and track, but her heart was in gymnastics. She continued that passion at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, where she competed in gymnastics and earned her Bachelor's Degree in Education.

Cindy had a gift for working with people, especially children. She taught fifth grade in Fennimore and was later a substitute teacher at schools in the Spring Green area. She thrived in customer service positions for decades, including at Lands' End, where she worked for many years. However, where Cindy truly flourished was being a mom, and raising her two children was one of the greatest joys of her life.

Cindy will be remembered for her warmth, her contagious laugh, and the love she shared so freely with others. She was deeply connected to her faith, which she drew upon for solace and resilience during struggles with her health. She enjoyed the company of friends and family, and she was always ready with just the right words of comfort and encouragement.

She had a soft spot for animals, especially her dog Sophie, and an appreciation for music of all kinds.

Cindy is survived by her children, Kenny (Elizabeth) Vandewater of Wisconsin Dells and Caroline (Mark) Van Dalmacio of Seattle; her granddaughter Eleanor Van Dalmacio of Seattle; her soulmate of 22 years, Dick Jacobson, and his children Kailey and Hayden Jacobson; her brother Terry (Karen) Van Natta of Sedro-Wooley, WA; and many, many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Dawn Van Natta.

We remember Cindy as a beacon of light, a pillar of strength, and a friend to all. Though she will be deeply missed, she leaves behind a legacy of love and positivity that will endure for generations to come.

A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, October 17, 2025, at Christ Lutheran Church, 237 Daley Street, Spring Green, WI. Visitation will take place at the church on Thursday, October 16, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m., and again on Friday from 10:30 to 11:30. The Erickson Funeral Home in Darlington is serving the family. Online condolences may be shared at www.ericksonfuneralhome.com

The family would also like to express gratitude to the staff at Upland Hills Hospital for their compassion and support at the end of Cindy's journey with vascular dementia.

May Cindy's soul rest in eternal peace, and may her memory continue to be a blessing to all who knew and loved her.
