Lowden, Carrie Anne (Esser)

Carrie Anne (Esser) Lowden, 44, of Worthington, Ohio, passed away on November 15th 2025 due to complications of a heart attack. She was born on August 16, 1981, and grew up in Highland Wisconsin before pursuing her education and building a remarkable life defined by love, laughter, and generosity.

Carrie was a proud graduate of the University of Wisconsin–Stout, earning her degree in Interior Decorating. Shortly after graduation, she moved to Ohio to begin her career, joining Glazer Distribution, where she worked for 15 years as a dedicated and well-loved sales representative. She later continued her passion for design through several roles in that field, and most recently brought her talents, creativity, and warm spirit to the Worthington School district.

Carrie had an infectious laugh that filled every room she entered. She was the literal life of the party, always dancing, always smiling, and always lifting the people around her. She made everyone feel important—family, friends, coworkers, and neighbors. Once Carrie made a friend, that bond lasted a lifetime. Her friendship circles were both huge and tightly knit—she nurtured every relationship with loyalty, warmth, and genuine care. She was the person everyone went to for advice, support, or comfort, and she never failed to show up for the people she loved. She was an incredible cook and loved hosting parties and family get togethers where she could display her amazing charcuterie boards.

She married the love of her life, Philip Lowden, 15 years ago in Indian lake where the Lowden family has a beloved lake house. The Lake house is a place she cherished deeply. She loved bringing friends and family there, creating memories, laughter, and traditions that will be treasured forever. Over the years Carrie and Phil built a beautiful family and were blessed with three amazing daughters—Delaney 12 and twins Layla and Neva 10—who were the absolute center of her world. Carrie could always be found on the side lines cheering them on in all their activities.

Carrie was preceded in death by her brother Jeff. She is survived by her loving husband; her daughters, her parents Jim and Priscilla Esser. Her siblings Michelle Esser (Mark) Jamie Lowden (John), and Scott Esser (Leeanne) Mother and Father-in-law, John and Jane Lowden. Brothers-in-law Chris (Rae) Bill (Sunny) and Mark Lowden. She also leaves behind 10 nieces and nephews: Avery and Olivia Lowden, Marissa and JJ Cleary, Aidan, Gabe and Elijah Lowden, Eric Michitsch, Adison and Ana Esser. Many cousins, aunts, and uncles, and countless childhood, college neighborhood and coworker friends whose lives were made brighter by her presence.

Carrie’s smile, sparkle, kindness, and joy will be forever missed and always remembered.

A Celebration of Life was held at the Schoedinger funeral home at 6699 N. High St. Worthington Ohio on Thursday November 20th with visitation hours from 4-7.

In lieu of flowers the family is asking that you make a donation in Carrie’s name to a charity of your choosing, or if you wish you can donate to the girl’s college fund via Zelle @philip.b.lowden@gmail.com.

There will be a Celebration of Life at the Red Zone in Highland, Wisconsin on November 29th from 11 a.m.-3 p.m.
