Local volunteers craft quilts to ensure every child has a bed

Members of the volunteer quilting group supporting Sleep in Heavenly Peace display several of the many quilts they have created for children in need. The group meets on the second Monday of each month from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Livingston United Methodist Church fellowship hall to make donation quilts for the nonprofit, which provides handmade single and bunk beds to children without a bed of their own. Donations of fabric or funds for batting are welcome, and volunteers of all skill levels can help with tasks such as ironing, cutting, arranging fabric, and sewing. For questions or donations, contact Karen at 608-943-6545.
